Estrogen imbalances and hormone deficiencies cause women to experience a range of undesirable symptoms and physical changes in the body. With bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, we can restore your hormones to optimal levels and help you look and feel your best.
The goal of every individualized bioidentical hormone therapy (bHRT) program we create is to improve patients’ overall health and wellbeing, help them look and feel younger, prevent disease, and of course, delay the aging process. Our biological age does not need to match our chronological age – many of our patients look and feel much younger than the number of years they have lived!
Personalized Replacement Therapy Program
Patients’ wellbeing is our number one priority. That’s why the Age Management Center of New England is so committed to getting to know and understand each of our patients on an individual level when designing their personalized hormone replacement therapy program.
Before embarking on a hormone replacement therapy program it is imperative for our anti-aging doctors to understand your current hormonal and metabolic health as well as your wellness aspirations. We start by collecting a complete history and conducting comprehensive lab tests. Our specialists will then evaluate your baseline using our targeted diagnostics tests and by reviewing your medical and family history. We also perform a physical exam and go over any recent diagnostic medical procedures you may have had. As a final step, our doctors compile all of the information, hold an in-depth initial visit and create a complete, individualized treatment program that will most effectively and safely address your needs and goals.
Hormone Replacement Program Description
Dr. Bedecs and our team of specialist believe that a comprehensive medical review is necessary to create the best individualized hormone replacement therapy program possible.
Many women still have misguided fears about hormone replacement therapies, in large part due to a 2002 Women’s Health Initiative report. This landmark study evaluated non-bioidentical hormones, and therefore did see an increase in some types of cancer and risk of heart disease risks among some female populations. However, it has since been proven that the problem with the study was the type of hormones used, rather than all hormone therapies. The estrogen used in the study was Premarin Estrogen (conjugated equine estrogens), this is not bioidentical. Furthermore, the Progesterone used was called Provera which is a synthetic progestin, in other words, also not bioidentical. These non-bioidentical hormones caused many problems. Since this study was published, it has been scientifically proven that naturally sourced bioidentical estrogens and progesterone do not have the same health risk concerns as synthetic hormones. In fact, naturally sourced hormones have been proven to have many benefits for Adult Hormone Deficiency Syndrome including improved cognition, bone health, cardiovascular health and enhanced wellbeing.
For patients considering a hormone replacement therapy program, it is always important to see a doctor that specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement therapies (bHRT) to rule out individual risk factors and ensure that your medications are safe for you.
Our program works by combining naturally sourced hormone replacement solutions with customized health recommendations that may include nutrition, vitamin/mineral and antioxidant supplementation, and/or botanical medicines. Getting patients started on a personalized bHRT program is just the beginning— our premier HRT doctors will continue to monitor your response to the hormones, nutrition recommendations and supplements throughout the entire process.
