How menopause impacts women’s risk of heart disease

Do you know your risk of heart disease?

Testosterone beyond sex and muscles

Testosterone has become more than a hormone – elevated in popular culture into this greater concept of “masculinity”. That stems, in part, in science, as men produce 90-95% more testosterone than women. But one of the biggest discrepancies I continue to see, even...

Being overweight is not only unpleasant, but in many cases, is dangerous to one’s health and life span.

The reason men have excess weight is often multifactorial, and in many cases, reaching your goals involves more than just “needing to go on a diet”.

The primary factors impacting excess weight do include poor diet and exercise, but they also include metabolic imbalance and hunger management. Unfortunately, many men fail to address these last two factors, and as a result, many men simply can’t seem to reach their weight loss goals.

From a metabolic perspective, we’re talking about:

  • Blood sugar
  • Thyroid
  • Growth hormone
  • Cortisol levels
  • And of course low testosterone

Hunger management is also a big concern, and with new hunger suppressing (and fat burning) meds like semaglutide, men now have a safe, effective tool to help them control hunger, reduce binge eating, and cut back on unwarranted snacking.

So it goes back to the old joke… how many men does it to change a light bulb? The answer is only 1. But the light bulb has to want to change. That means, you have to want to lose the weight. And the reasons for that can be varied. It could be to create a better, more enjoyable life for yourself, to feel good about your body and get back your confidence, or to ensure you have a longer time with family and loved ones.

If you have the desire, then next comes blood tests, the balancing of suboptimal metabolic conditions, and the frosting on your (sugar free, dairy free, calorie free) cake are weight loss medications like CJC1295 peptide and semaglutide.

This men’s health month, if you’re ready to get rid of that weight once and for all, give us a call and let us help you achieve a better you. It all starts with a free, no-commitment screening, and there’s no time like the present to cut the fat and get moving toward a new you.
